S.M.A.R.T officials have decided that these tire rule changes are in the best interest of the racer. Keeping budget
in mind, these rules now allow most all teams to use the tires they currently have, as well as use S.M.A.R.T tires at their
home track. This tire rule WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS SEASON. We will NOT change this rule again, nor will
we make any exceptions at any more of our events. IF YOU ARRIVE AT ANY OF OUR EVENTS WITH UNAPPROVED TIRES, YOU WILL BE ASKED
TO PURCHASE THE CORRECT TIRES OR NOT RACE AT THAT EVENT. We also do not take rule changes lightly. These are the hardest decisions
to make and must only be made in the fairness of competition and budget first and foremost.
Please keep in mind that series
officials have the right to alter or ammend any rule, including tires at a particular track in the interest of SAFETY.
Look for 2009 rules within
the coming month.
